STEWARDSHIP

Have you fulfilled your commitment for 2018? Please remember the Church even while on travel by submitting your weekly contributions.

Giving our time, talent, and treasure to the Church is an opportunity – an opportunity to examine our priorities and values. It is an opportunity to express our thankfulness, to give of ourselves and to grow in grace. It is an opportunity to participate in the work of God by

We are called to apply our gifts, training, abilities, education and skills to the tasks that God places before us. If we do this humbly and prayerfully, the body of Christ will function to its full potential.

St. Demetrios is a stewardship parish. There is no minimum commitment required for anyone to be considered a member of the parish. We do ask that you prayerfully consider your annual commitment and be generous with your time, talents, and treasure. We are a small community that is deeply thankful for your donations and grateful for your willingness to volunteer.

More information is available from the stewardship page on our web site. Click for the web site and commitment card. Commitment cards are also available in the Narthex. We ask that each family complete a commitment card each year so we can keep our membership rolls current and better plan our budget.

BOOKSTORE HELP WANTED

As you may have noticed, we have a simple bookstore between the sanctuary and the hall. We would like to improve our inventory and offer a variety of selections for sale. What we need most right now is someone to take charge of the bookstore operation. We also need a few volunteers who could open the bookstore on Sundays after Divine Liturgy. If you are interested in this stewardship ministry, please contact Fr. Gianulis.

FISH DONATIONS

FISH, Inc. of Williamsburg, Virginia, is an all-volunteer not-for-profit agency providing help to residents of the greater Williamsburg area. FISH depends entirely upon a caring community for food, clothing, volunteers and financial donations, in order to serve our neighbors in need. Individuals within our community and our Church School have supported FISH. FISH is based on the Greek word, which was also an early Christian symbol: ΙΧΘΥΣ. Donations are at the low point in the year during the summer months, when the need is often the greatest. They accept non-perishable food items and clothing. You may donate directly to FISH located at the Messmer Community Services Center, 312 Waller Mill Road; or bring your contributions to Church and add to the collection boxes in hallway next to our new book store.

The Christy family may have refrained from Cosabella Dolce Boy Shorts Sale Wholesale Price Quality From China Wholesale 1uOjw
on the farm in Kansas, but that didn’t stop Richard from utilizing one in his latest phony phone call.

After hearing a man call in to Swap Shop in search of a few baby ducks, Richard quickly got to work and dialed him up.

“My name’s Rusty. I heard you on Swap Shop. Are you still looking for baby ducks?” he asked the man.

After receiving an affirmative, Richard informed the man that he’d have to speak to “Momma” to make sure she wanted to sell. The man no doubt expected to speak with a human, but instead was met with the honking quacks of a mother duck.

Pushing ahead, the man regained his composure and tried to make a deal.

“Yeah, I promise I’ll take care of them, Momma,” he reassured the duck to a chorus of quacks. “I’m talking to a duck now … this is cool,” he added in seeming disbelief.

, comedy icon Roseanne returned to the Stern Show on Tuesday morning for the first time since 2014. A lot has happened since that visit with Howard, including the Scallop Trim Dress LoveAdy Great Deals Sale Online pJsFk3
. It was Roseanne’s TV daughter Sara Gilbert (Darlene) who gets credited for coming up with the idea to bring back the Conner family following a skit she did with co-star John Goodman on Sara’s daytime show “The Talk.”

Once the video of that mini reunion racked up millions of views online, Sara called Roseanne to see if she’d be at all interested in officially rebooting the sitcom, adding that John had already expressed his interest. “I go, 'Well, if he’s in, I’m in.'” Roseanne recalled for Howard.

With the wheels in motion, the rest of the original cast signed up for another season without any hesitation. “Everybody said yes immediately,” Roseanne said. Howard considered that to be a true testament to how much they all actually enjoy being with each other and Roseanne agreed.

“We’ve never had so much fun and that’s the truth,” she told him.

However, there was one person who turned down an invitation to reprise his role on the sitcom. “George Clooney didn’t want to come on so that was a bummer,” Roseanne told Howard.

Despite distancing herself from the celebrations, the Queen has offered a heartfelt euology

Her heartfelt eulogy will form the centrepiece of Thursday’s ceremony at Leicester Cathedral when the “evil” king, blamed for the murder of the Princes in the Tower, will finally be laid to rest with honour. His skeleton was found under a council car park in the city in 2012, dumped unceremoniously in an unmarked grave after the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

It is a remarkable U-turn for the 88-year-old monarch, who has deliberately distanced herself from the celebrations.

She has asked the Countess of Wessex to represent her at the ceremony, the first burial of a king since her father George VI’s funeral in 1952.

The Queen has chosen instead to spend the day in Kent, unveiling a new Battle of Britain learning centre at Capel-le-Ferne.

The precise contents of the eulogy have not been released but sources have described the Queen’s words as “surprising” and “sweet” and say they will call on Britain to recognise the importance of Richard III in our nation’s history.

One source close to the commemorations revealed: “It is as if the Royal Family has had a change of heart.”

Richard III was the last king to die on the battlefield. He was succeeded by his opponent that day, Henry Tudor, from whom the Royal Family is descended.

Scientists who discovered and identified his bones have criticised the Royals’ apparent lack of interest.
